About Mike

Mike McGee is the creator of the National Heritage Collection.  Mike is President of Alex In Wonderland, Inc., a special effects company located in Burbank, California.  Although Mike works in Hollywood he is a Southerner at heart.  Born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Mike literally grew up with Revolutionary War and Civil War battlefields in his back yard.  As a veteran and a patriot he believes in passing on to future generations of young Americans our shared history and national legacy of military valor and heroism.  

After years of visiting museums across America he increasingly became concerned that much of the commemorative items offered for sale in museum gift shops were made in China and of subpar quality.   Having worked in the film industry creating props, creatures-suits and miniatures for movies like Armageddon, The Hunt for Red October,  Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle to name a few, Mike brings his meticulous attention to detail combined with his historical knowledge to the creation of each master pattern and sculpture.  Using manufacturing techniques honed on large movie productions Mike is able to produce high quality recreations of his statues, ships and other collectables offered in the National Heritage Collection.  Special attention is paid to each item as its packaged and prepared for shipping.  Mike is proud  to offer his National Heritage Collection as a welcome addition to every patriots personal collection.
